Serves: 12 | Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 20 min

Ingredients

Donut Ingredients
  • 4 large bananas, mushed (you want some chunks of banana in here, about the size of small peas)
  • 1/2 c sour cream or melted butter
  • 1 package Better Batter Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 c chocolate chips

Glaze Ingredients

  • 8 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 8 tbsp butter or dairy free margarine

Instructions

Preheat Oven to 375F

Spray 2 donut pans or muffin tins with cooking spray.

Mash Bananas and stir in melted butter.  For best flavor, use bananas that are still firm and yellow, but have lots of small brown dots on them.

Mix together mushed banana and cake mix, stirring until a very thick batter forms. Add the chocolate Chips to the batter and stir to combine.

Distribute batter evenly into prepared pans. smooth the tops with a spoon.

Bake  preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until raised and springy. Allow donuts to cool completely before removing from pans – they are delicate when hot!! – then top with glaze.

Prepare Glaze:   in a microwave safe, small and shallow bowl, melt the 2tbsp chocolate chips and 2tbsp butter or margarine. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.

Dip the top of the donuts in the warm glaze swirling slightly to shake off excess glaze. Invert and allow glaze to set before serving.

Store in an airtight container.
