Black Licorice Cupcakes

Serves: 24 | Prep Time: 15 min | Cook Time: 30 min 


Ingredients

Cake Ingredients
  • 1 package Better Batter Chocolate or Yellow Cake Mix, made according to package instruction to the batter stage
  • 1/2 tsp - 1 1/2 tsp anise extract

 

Instructions

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees. Line 24 muffin tins with decorative liners.

 

Prepare muffin tins. Line 24 muffin tins with decorative liners.


Prepare batter. Combine cake mix as instructed on package. 

 

Flavor batter.  This step is very important because anise is very strong!! Start by adding 1/2 tsp of anise extract and stirring into your batter. Add additional anise, 1/2 tsp at a time until you get the flavor you desire.

 

Divide batter evenly into cupcake liners and place in oven.

 

Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until top springs back when lightly touched.

 

Remove to a rack and allow to cool before decorating.
