This recipe was formulated to replicate the kind of chicken fajita you can make with a seasoning packet. Quick, easy, and flavorful, this recipe is what many people think of when they think of homemade fajitas. If you want to make this recipe even easier, feel free to use a frozen fajita vegetables mix instead of the fresh peppers and onion
Ingredients
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 green bell pepper, cut into 1/4 inch strips
1 red bell pepper, cut into 1/4 inch strips
1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 1/4 inch strips
1 onion, cut into strips
2 tbsp. oil
3 tbsp. Fajita Seasoning Mix
1/3 cup water
salsa
cheese
sour cream
1 recipe Flour Tortillas
Instructions
Cut chicken into thin strips. Cut peppers and onion into strips. Heat oil in large skillet and add chicken. Cook and stir over medium high heat for 5 minutes. Then add three tablespoons of the Fajita Seasoning Mix, water, peppers and onion. Reduce heat to medium. Cook and stir over medium heat until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
Serve with salsa, sour cream, and grated cheese in warmed tortillas.
