Thanks! I find too often that modern society has become ruder as it has progressively adopted a self-focused worldview. It's in treating others the way we want to be treated that we find the secret to being treated well. Call it The Secret, or karma, or the Law of Sowing and Reaping - but it is a truth as vital and real and applicable to us as the physical law of gravity.

You have seen the best and worst in the restaurant industry, I'm sure, and I certainly value your insight. Thanks so much for your kind words!

Great suggestions. I used to write a restaurant review column, years before my celiac diagnosis, and am glad I retired from it. I appreciate your insistence on conveying a cooperative approach with servers. I still cringe when eating out with difficult customers who grill (pardon me) the server rudely, change their order to a custom job that would be better suited to a different menu entirely, then grouse about the location of the table. I tell you Naomi, I don't stay friends too long with people like that. It's one of my acid friendship tests. Lost a few and better off.
Different from stating one's desire to be cooperative and appreciative of one's special needs. Well done.
