Orange and Yellow Peppers and thinly sliced onions add their own flavor note. This could also be a great fajita filling, served with fresh homemade flour tortillas.

grilledlamb.jpg Persian limes and oregano provide a surprisingly light and pleasing contrast to the distinctive flavor of lamb. Grilling on the fire adds a smoky note and compliments the flavor of the lamb like nothing else can. Serve this with lots of garlicky mashed potatoes and a fresh green salad.

baklava2.jpg This fabulous nut-studded pastry is a staple of Middle Eastern cooking, and is surprisingly easy to make. Layers of paper-thin pastry surround a rich nut filling, enhanced with lemon rind and cinnamon and drenched with a rich sugar syrup. This is a great make-ahead dessert, as it keeps well. A little goes a long way, so cut small pieces!
