Product Review: Chex Clusters Fruit and Oat - Better Batter Gluten Free Flour

Product Review: Chex Clusters Fruit and Oat

Crunchy clusters of oats, tangy bits of berry flavored fruit: this cereal is great!

Many of us in the gluten free community love our Chex cereal – lots of flavors, easily accessible, and cheap. On a trip to our in-laws this Thanksgiving weekend, we got a chance to try the new gluten free Chex Clusters cereal, in the oat and berry flavor.
chex oat berryProduct:Chex Clusters comes in a normal box – like the other flavors – it contains bits of berry flavored fruit chips and clusters of oat granola in addition to the chex cereal you expect.

Size:
Each box of these weighed in at 13.4 ounces, with about 11 servings per box.
Price:
At our store the cereal cost $3.68

COMPARISON

There’s really no comparison here – as a normal cereal, it is prices and sized just like the other cereal offerings on the shelf. If anything, at 1 extra  ounce more per box, this might be sightly better priced than its compatriots.

Texture and Flavor:

Texturally, this reminded me of my favorite childhood cereal – Honey Bunches of Oats. It had a sharp, tangy berry flavor. My family agreed: if Honey Bunches of Oats and Special K with Strawberies ran away and had a torrid affair, this would be the resulting love child.
Allergens:

Top Eight: Our boxes did not list any allergens.

Other: Corn.

If you avoid GMO products or BHT you should avoid this.
