This recipe was formulated to replicate Stove Top Brand stuffing mix and is a great mix to keep on hand for nigh when you really don’t have time to cook but want a filling side dish.
6 cups dehydrated, finely diced bread (1/4 inch dice or less) – use any of our Bread recipes
1 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
3 tsp chicken or beef soup base or powdered bouillon.
1/4 c minced, dried onion(About 1 c fresh. Can be dried in a dehydrator or stove)
1/2 c finely minced. dehydrated celery (About 1 c fresh. Can be dried in a dehydrator or stove)
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried sage
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
Make sure bread cubes are extremely dry. Place into a large Ziploc bag. In a bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients and place in a smaller Ziploc baggie. Store till needed.
To Use:
1 bag stuffing mix
1/2 c water
1/4 c margarine or butter
Instructions
Melt the margarine or butter in the saucepan with the water and bring to a simmer. Add the seasoning ingredients and simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Dump the bread cubes into the pan, cover, and remove from the heat. Let sit for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
